Here you will find a range of hot regional traditional food. So if you want to relive your childhood, or just get a hearty meal, you can enjoy a range of warming snacks including steamed potatoes, cheese and beans or pie, peas and gravy.
The stall also sells hot black puddings, steak & kidney puddings, soup, hot dogs, Lancashire crisps and chocolate bars. Bottles of home brewed sarsaparilla and root beer are available to take home.
Alan Taylor, the owner, is passionate about all things historical. A man with a deep pride in the heritage of the area you’ll find his stall crammed with black and white images of bygone Blackburn and a library of history books in his back cupboard.
Celebrate the flavours of his home brewed sodas and the traditional non-alcoholic beers of the Temperance Movement with his range of refreshing brews including sarsaparilla and root beer. Also available are tea, coffee, hot chocolate, Fitzpatrick’s cordials and even a non-alcoholic mulled wine during the festive season. There’s even two good old fashioned Lancashire favourites, Hot Bovril and Hot Vimto alongside a jar of liquorice root sticks.
