A local resident is the lucky winner of £150 of market vouchers after entering a competition on the day of the official market launch.
As part of the celebrations for the opening of Blackburn’s new £8million market in July, 500 balloons were released by local shoppers.
Janet O’Malley’s balloon travelled an impressive 74 miles and was found in Barnsley by Mr. T Catton.
On Saturday, August 20 at 2pm Janet accepted her winnings at a presentation at the market.
Mr. Catton, who won £50 of market vouchers, asked for his prize to be donated to a children’s charity. They have been given to the Maddison Allen Appeal.
